I sat and wondered what kind of a night I was going to have with my little darling. I think that was always the part I dreaded, sleeplessness! I should have taken advantage to having nurses that could have let me get some sleep. I have to smile now, as I have such a hard time getting her to wake up for school.

Today was the official day of her birth, but we are NOT going to celebrate it until the 19th. She brought cupcakes to school for her treats. I guess they were a hit. This was photo of her was taken today in her classroom. The other photo is from the hospital when she was 2 days old. She was already looking like a little pumpkin.

Tessa is sitting on the couch looking at her baby book and wondering why I saved and wrote what I did. Thank goodness I did, as I am sure if I tried to write something now, my memory would NOT be able to recall anything right. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TESSA, you were the best birthday present I had that year! Till next time...

Continued for yesterday

Here is that photo that I told you about. The cocoon for a butterfly. John found it after removing those plants by the west side of the house. Not a very pretty thing, but it serves a purpose. Till next time...

October 6, 2007

I am sure that John really dreaded this day. I had hinted that I wanted to do yard work as it was probably going to be the last chance we would have. The next two weekends are spent busy with family activities. A long awaited visit from my brother and Tessa's big moment. (I can not wait till this is past me!) Tessa is very happy with the banner that Julie made for her. She was amazed that all the colors were used like she asked.

It is always much easier to shop when the little people stay at home. John and I were able to pick out clothes with out the constant "Come here!" I think you all know what I mean, especially if you have ever been in the store with Tessa.

I can now sit here and breath a sigh of relief because the yard work is done. John dug up the butterfly plant as it was just to aggressive where I had put it. He found a cocoon stuck to the side of the house and I hope to get a photo here of it. We are all getting ready to watch another Sci-Fi Thriller. What can I say, we are hooked on these rather cheesy saturday movies! Are you going to be watching it to night Juls, or did you have to set the DVR for later enjoyment!! Till next time...

October 5, 2007

Hi Mom, I know I did not get to talk to you today when you called. I was in the middle of another service call with the cable guy. I really hope that is the last time that I have to see one of those guys for a very long time.

My day went really well, actually I just have to say it was a great day. It was full of laughter, being amazed by coworkers and the silliness that sometimes comes out when you least expect it. I was asked out to lunch with some of the administrators to the Panda Buffet. Tessa was so jealous when she heard that.

I finally pulled out that cross stitch project I have been working on for 2 years. I just want to get it DONE! I just wish my eyes could not get so tired while trying to see the little squares. Brenna, you may get this stocking before you are old and grey. John had to put in a LONG day again. I am just hoping he will not have to go in on Sunday. How are all of you doing? Time to close and get some sleep. YEAH!!! Till next time...

I am Crystal Meth you may know me as 'P'‏

Heartbreaking! "I AM CRYSTAL METH "

This was written by a young girl who was in jail for drug charges, and was addicted to crystal meth [P] . She wrote this while in jail. As you will soon read, she fully grasped the horrors of the drug, as she tells in this simple, yet profound poem. She was released from jail, but true to her story, the drug owned her.

My Name is: " P "

I destroy homes, I tear families apart,
take your children, and that's just the start.
I'm more costly than diamonds, more precious than gold,
The sorrow I bring is a sight to behold.

If you need me, remember! I'm easily found,
I live all around you - in schools and in town.
I live with the rich; I live with the poor,
I live down the street, and maybe next door.

I'm made in a lab, but not like you think,
I can be made under the kitchen sink.
In your child's closet, and even in the woods,
If this scares you to death, well it certainly should.

I have many names, but there's one you know best,
I'm sure you've heard of me, my name is crystal meth.
My power is awesome; try me you'll see,
But if you do, you may never break free.

Just try me once and I might let you go,
But try me twice, and I'll own your soul.
When I possess you, you'll steal and you'll lie,
You do what you have to -- just to get high.

The crimes you'll commit for my narcotic charms
Will be worth the pleasure you'll feel in your arms, (your lungs, and your nose).
You'll lie to your mother; you'll steal from your dad,
When you see their tears, you should feel sad.

But you'll forget your morals and how you were raised,
I'll be your conscience, I'll teach you my ways.
I take kids from parents, and parents from kids,
I turn people from God, and separate friends.

I'll take everything from you, your looks and your pride,
I'll be with you always -- right by your side.
You'll give up everything - your family, your home,
Your friends, your money, then you'll be alone.

I'll take and take, till you have nothing more to give,
When I'm finished with you, you'll be lucky to live.
If you try me be warned - this is no game,
If given the chance, I'll drive you insane.

I'll ravish your body, I'll control your mind,
I'll own you completely, your soul will be mine.
The nightmares I'll give you while lying in bed,
The voices you'll hear, from inside your head.

The sweats, the shakes, the visions you'll see,
I want you to know, these are all gifts from me.
But then it's too late, and you'll know in your heart,
That you are mine, and we shall not part.

You'll regret that you tried me, they always do,
But you came to me, not I to you.
You knew this would happen, many times you were told,
But you challenged my power, and chose to be bold.

You could have said no, and just walked away,
If you could live that day over, now what would you say?
I'll be your master, you will be my slave,
I'll even go with you, when you go to your grave.

Now that you have met me, what will you do?
Will you try me or not? It's all up to you.
I can bring you more misery than words can tell,
Come take my hand, let me lead you to hell.

A Woman's Poem

Mom, you are not going to like this little poem someone sent to me in my email. I had to smile when I read it!

He didn't like the casserole
And he didn't like my cake.
He said my biscuits were too hard...
Not like his mother used to make.
I didn't perk the coffee right
He didn't like the stew,
I didn't mend his socks
The way his mother used to do
I pondered for an answer
I was looking for a clue.
Then I turned around and smacked the shit out of him...

Like his mother used to do.?

Where does the TIME go!!

Another night is slipping away from me. I had planned to write but had the pleasure of chatting with Brenna instead. I was sitting, watching news and wondering about what attracts your attention?! Most of you will not be surprised by what gets my attention. It is NOT the usual pretty things that most women like, but say something about an archaeological site or something forensic related and you have my attention. Did you know of the fascination that both Tessa and I have of the Titanic? Why, I wish I knew. Do any of you know what Pompeii is? I wish I knew when I first heard of it, but my mind often wonders about that place. I would love to travel to some of these place of old ruins and imagine if the stones could speak. Now, I am ready to call it a day. There will be more time tomorrow for all the what ifs that cross my mind. Till next time...

His mysterious ways

This week had me waking up some mornings and just plain feeling like a dork. It does NOT help when Tessa has to make her usual comments. I was even starting to wonder if I was doing a good job at work. (it is amazing where are mind can take us!)

I had not asked for confirmation on how I was doing, but HE knew what I needed to hear. To make a long story short, a coworker told me as he was walking away how much he appreciated what I was doing and that this place did not always let you know that. What a nice thing to say when I knew he was NOT feeling well and should have gone home with a migraine. It is often those little kindness that mean the most. I will close for now. I wish that John could write about what goes on at is job. Till next time...

The wait is over.

The news I was waiting for was the confirmation that Jerry was coming for a visit. I have been told he is in October for a week. I know that Mom hopes to get all of us together for a family photo. I hope we are able to give her that opportunity. I would like to put more of my thoughts here tonight, but I have acquired this lovely little headache that I am sure is from eye strain at work. I am glad it is the weekend and hopefully it will be relaxing. I know that Gregg and his crew start the beet harvest tonight. It will be a long 2 weeks for Alicia and Mariah. I will close for now. I hope you all have a great weekend! Till next time...

The waiting

The thought of the possibilities of the news of last night makes my head spin. The wait for the confirmation is torture and what a disappointment if it does NOT happen. Juls, you beat me in referencing it! HOW IS EVERYONE? Go out and enjoy this beautiful day! Till next time...

Decorating the Office - meet BURNiece

I did not know the plan when I first arrived at work today. It did NOT take me long to figure out the big plans for the day. I guess I work in the part of the office that loves to decorate for Halloween. Pizza was ordered and the fun began. I will post one photo for now, I think it will give you an idea until I can share more. To say, that I am shocked by all the decorating is putting it mildly! I was left alone in the area and I kept feeling like someone was behind me. (kind of creepy!) I am off with Mom for a night away. Do you think John and Tessa will enjoy the peace and quiet? Till next time...

Grandmas don't know everything

Grandmas don't know everything

Little Tony was staying with his grandmother for a few days.
He'd been playing outside with the other kids for a while when
he came into the house and asked her,
"Grandma, what's that called when two people sleep in the same room and one is on top of the other?"

She was a little taken aback, but she decided to just tell him the
truth. "It's called sexual intercourse, darling."
Little Tony just said, "Oh, OK,"
and went back outside to play with the other kids.

A few minutes later he came back in and said angrily,
"Grandma, it isn't called sexual intercourse.
It's called Bunk Beds, And Jimmy's Mom wants to talk to you!!"

SMILE

I just could not help but smile when I saw this photo. Hope you are all having a great weekend!

This is priceless

God is sitting in Heaven when a scientist says to Him, 'Lord, we don't
need you anymore. Science has finally figured out a way to create life
out of nothing. In other words, we can now do what you did in the
'beginning
!!.'

'Oh, is that so? Tell me...' replies God.

'Well, ' says the scientist, 'we can take dirt and form it into the
likeness of You and breathe life into it, thus creating man.'

'Well, that's interesting . Show Me. '

So the scientist bends down to the earth and starts to mold the soil.

'Oh no, no, no...' interrupts GOD

( I love this! )

'Get your own dirt.'

September 8, 2007

I think that John and I need a vacation to recover from this week of vacation. I guess next year we should actually go somewhere so that I can not find all these fun activities to do around the house. I will eventually put photos of the living room here as I promised. I must patiently wait for John to get them into the other computer. Julie stopped in on her way to Pracs and said she loved how it looks.

I have guessed both times Alicia's 'news'. This time it was looking at her face and jokingly asking if she was pregnant. I really did not expect her to say yes. I had to ask her a couple of times if she was serious. I really am not sure it has sunk in yet, but it WILL!

I think the comments that Mariah will be making should be written down. Where do these children get their knowledge. How did she know that Alicia should not drink and start to drink lots of milk? The fact she wished she was getting a puppy just makes me smile. She says she is going to be a big sister and Tessa gets to auntie to someone else.

I just put my family through one of my strange movie rentals. The title is not important, but music in the background was good and I am still shaking my head as to what it was all about. I am looking forward to watching another Sci-Fi flick tonight. I hope that you have all had a great weekend. Till next time...

Another carpet bites the dust.

Our little vacations together are never planned out. It is like we just let time take us where ever it wants to. I had hoped to paint our living room. I know the week is not over with and it may still happen. Yesterday, ended up being a day of putting down new floor in bedroom. Once we figured out how to do it, it went rather fast. Thank goodness for Allan and his table saw, the last row had to be cut down. I will say this, I am very glad we did it and soooo happy it is done. The thought of it makes me TIRED! I know I drive John crazy, but we made a good team. He would make the cuts and I would pound them in. Well, that's all for now folks. Till next time...
