Pajama Day

Tessa had pajama day on Thursday. How comfortable would that be to go to work in our pj's? She is holding a flashlight in her hands. They also had this reading with flashlight moment. I know she would have liked to be there for that.

New Toy

I was in Michael's today and of course found something new to try. It is really more of something for Tessa to play with, but I could NOT help myself. I gave the new product a whirl once I got home. Tessa came out to see what it did exactly, and then made a comment that I just had to laugh over. 'I do not like it to get messy!' She was referring to the cutting board having the impression of the image that was just cut out on top of it. I always say that she is so much like her father, which of course she is!! She comes up with these remarks and I am reminded sadly that she also has my hangups. This week another one showed up, she had borrowed a book to one of my coworkers, and just asked that she be very careful with her book. This person decided that she did NOT dare bring the book home in case her children messed it up. This little tendency for our books to stay as pristine as possible must be a family trait. YOU KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT JULS!

John found a game for our DS that he just knew I would like. POOL! I know that later we will be giving it a try. Mom, you will never believe what we saw in Walmart, a John Deere Calendar. I told Alicia about it, as she happened to be there just looking at baby things. She wants to register soon for things she would like. Susan, what was the car seat that you did not like? I keep telling her to ask you.

Tessa was invited to a hockey game tonight with a friend. She will have to tell what it is like as I have never been to one. Well, at least not with the men. OK, time to get something done today. Till next time...

Finished Project

Do you remember when I went to school to help Tessa with her Beading project? Here is the end result. I think she did a great job!

December 28, 2007

Thanks to all that gave Tessa gift cards. I so greatly appreciate the honor of taking her SHOPPING! That was what I did yesterday and watching her try to pick something was a to say the least, a trial of my PATIENCE! She does NOT like to spend her money, so we still have money to use at another time. OH JOY! She came home with a Bratz doll, dog tag with Will Turner on it and a calendar. I came home with tired feet. John thought it was all very funny.

We had to stop at the pet shop. Oh my, they had some cute puppies. One was so close to what Nakita looks like. I noticed the Min Pin's, which Tessa did NOT like. How is everyone doing? Till next time...

Tears

Tessa has spent most of last night sick. I spent most of the night cleaning up after her. Now all she can seem to do is cry. She is upset to be feeling bad, another holiday where she is sick. Is there anything worse than a child that does NOT feel well. I hope the rest of you are having a better day than she is!

Andi and the Crash!

Tessa does this sort of thing when I would like her to be doing something else. I just have to laugh at what is going on in her head!

Beading with Tessa

I know that I mentioned going to Tessa's class to help with beading. My biggest impression is that they keep that room much too warm. I looked at Tessa and thought at first she was not feel well. Her cheeks were so rosy red! The heat made it hard o think, I would find myself fighting sleep in that class room.

The different personalities of the children, make me very happy that I never wanted to become a teacher. Tessa really did not want my help, but she received it anyways! This will probably be the last time I get to help in her class room. I have done it almost every year since she started.

Today is soup day at work. I have a coworker that has requested I bring soup, as I guess she likes it as much as I do. I am relieved to have the care back so that I can drive the crock pot there. I hope you are all having a great day! Till next time...

Quick Post

This past weekend was nothing but frustration most of the time. The computer acting up and John and I wasting over 8 hours between us trying to figure it out is really irritating. Then I had another of those headaches that lasts all day. This is the reason that I have NOT been here to write anything in days.

Friday at work the office was decorated for Christmas, and I must say, I like this better than Halloween. The photo shows the area right over my desk, MUCH BETTER than spiderwebs!

We also put up the tree and that leaves less to do over Thanksgiving weekend. John has his company party and to be honest may not ever want to think about decorating the next day.

I have to run now, my presence is required in Tessa's class. I get to help with the beading project they are doing. I am glad the weather is nice, as I do NOT have the car. Hope to see the parents afterwards. Till next time...

Half way there

I am sitting here wondering if the kids are going to settle down and sleep soon. I am a bit nervous as they want it quiet after 11p. The girls are all boxed into their 'cave'. I will eventually share a photo or two. John and I are TIRED, but satisfied that they have had FUN! Time to sign off and catch some ZZZZZ! Till next time...

I sat and wondered what kind of a night I was going to have with my little darling. I think that was always the part I dreaded, sleeplessness! I should have taken advantage to having nurses that could have let me get some sleep. I have to smile now, as I have such a hard time getting her to wake up for school.

Today was the official day of her birth, but we are NOT going to celebrate it until the 19th. She brought cupcakes to school for her treats. I guess they were a hit. This was photo of her was taken today in her classroom. The other photo is from the hospital when she was 2 days old. She was already looking like a little pumpkin.

Tessa is sitting on the couch looking at her baby book and wondering why I saved and wrote what I did. Thank goodness I did, as I am sure if I tried to write something now, my memory would NOT be able to recall anything right. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TESSA, you were the best birthday present I had that year! Till next time...

First Day of School

This is what NOT to do on the first day of school!! OVERSLEEP! I never do this, I always wake up when John is getting out of the shower, not today. I guess I even told him I was getting up as he was leaving. GRRR!!! Tessa made it to school, I even managed that first day of school photo. I think what really bothered me was watching her walk to school without me. I have always been there that first day. She did not seem bothered, so why did it bother me? I am proud to say that I did NOT have tears like I have had other years with other children.

Alicia comes to see me before her weekly meeting. I asked her if she had to drive home in the bad weather last night. She said that she was on her way home at 7:30pm before it hit. I guess those really lovely giant sunflowers she had growing on the west side of her house took a real beating. I am glad that we were able to get photos of them with the blooms. She was telling me about Northwood and I was shocked. I never listen to the news and once again was clueless. John, Tessa and I had gone outside of town to watch the storm come and to try and get good photos. I listened to the radio say that it was near Northwood, but never really thought much of it.

The storm was bad enough in town to scare Tessa, so she spent most of the night on the couch. I unplugged things and then went to bed, I did not feel like there was anything else I could. I still love to listen to the rain, just did not like how close the lightening was.

I was really glad to hear Tessa say that she was excited for school tomorrow. I think it would be fair to say, I was SHOCKED! She went to a friends house, the one action that can sometimes make me nervous. I do NOT always know right away where she it, another adjustment of being back in school. How is everyone else? I know photos, and eventually I will get them on here. Till next time...

Good Eyes

Tessa saw these as we were driving over the bridge into Grand Forks. John did NOT believe her, but he turned around and the photos are the proof. A mama deer and her babies near the bridge and river. I was rather surprised to see them so close to the city. Till next time...

TOTAL SHOCK

John and I had gone to pay a bill and try to find something to work with our threshold problem. We come home to get Tessa for a drive and low and behold, SHE HAS DONE SOME CLEANING!!! I mean real actual work. She had vacuumed, put clean dishes away and something else. On the computer screen was a note asking if we would PLEASE take her school shopping for all her hard work. Do you actually think there is hope yet?

Today was really not so bad. I had my first experience with the network not really wanting to behave. When a person's job depends on the computer, that can be a bit frustrating. My trainer-boss was in a board meeting and could not help, so I just winged it till my time to go home came. I hope that tomorrow she can show me how to enter tenant files. There is a crap load of them to get scanned and into the system. I mean boxes and boxes. All I can say is that glasses are a gift from God. I would be totally lost with out them. The day ended with such a lovely evening. John watered the flowers and I sprayed for weeds. I think I need more of Dad's concoction though. How are all of you? TIll next time...

Princess Tessa

Tessa was supposed to be cleaning, but got a little side tracked. I had to laugh when I saw this taped on the stained glass window on the way up to her room. Does it put a smile on your face? Till next time...

I Wish!

My time with Brenna is slipping through my fingers. Why is it when we enjoy ourselves the most that time absolutely flies by? My day started at 8am when Brenna arrived at my door with a smile on her face. She had so much to tell me and really so little time to do it in. When we talk on the phone I am always telling her that I can not understand her. When I have her face to face I have NO problem. She wanted real food, which I made (fresh buns and sloppy joes). We all went to Target to find something for Mariah. Brenna and I went on a walk. I put on that brace which, quite frankly, FRUSTRATES me! I feel like I walk funny, I just want to walk like I used to. We had started to watch this movie, but she took it out to her sister's to finish. I am now waiting for John, so that we can also go out to the house.
Our evening at the Saure's was pleasant. Family enjoying themselves, sitting around a bonfire. The men trying to keep it going and the kids playing with fireworks. Brenna's camera died, so John took her to Best Buy to replace it. I know that it can be hard to get used to a new one, but I am sure she will do well. I am about to go to Alicia's so that I can ride with her when she takes Mariah to the cities. It will be a long day of driving so I hope we can both stay awake. Have a great day! Till next time...

SOOO EXCITED!

I am SOOO excited! Brenna is coming home for a couple of days!! I can hardly wait to see her. She wanted to see Mariah before she left for the summer. She is going to spend the summer with her father in SC. The family is getting together Thursday evening to spend the last night with her. Alicia and I are taking her to the cities to meet Chris at the Airport. I can not say I am really looking forward to that long drive. I can't help Alicia drive as I still can not drive a clutch. She would NOT want me to even try to either!

The weather has given us a break for the heat. I am really enjoying the 60's with the windows open. Tessa spent the earlier morning hours pulling a tooth so that when she saw the dentist he would NOT do it. She did not want to ruin her record of having pulled all her own teeth. She has a mother that turns a bit green at the thought of even seeing a loose tooth. One of my many strange quirks. (she loves to torment me with that one also!) The visit to the dentist found one cavity. She does NOT seem to care. I would be so mad if it was me. I always hated getting them filled. She was more excited about her mood ring prize she got today.

John had bought this little squirrel feeder and today I found a squirrel sitting inside just a munching away. I don't think I have ever seen anything so cute in my life. The right before we left for the dentist a finch came to feed. IT was the first one I had seen this year, and so I had to take a picture as proof.

I am really enjoying a lovely quiet afternoon. Tessa went to Madi's to play and I decided to try a new recipe. If it is good I will put it here. Lemon Muffins. I hope they are good. Brenna's call to say she was coming made my day. I had the pleasure of letting Alicia in on the secret and by the tone of her voice she is really excited to see her sister. I hope that you are all well, till next time...

June 5, 2007

Juls was here and after she was done with her appointments we went to a movie together. I have never been there when it has been so empty. The movie was 'Pirates of the Caribbean, Worlds End'. IT WAS SO GOOD! I know that sitting next to me was a trial in patience on occasion.

Julie, remember the phone was acting up when you left. The midco guy had to come out and do some repairs as our settings were apparently not what they should be. Tessa and Mariah were able to swim for awhile. Alicia was at her first golf lesson tonight. Mariah and I are watching the movie called 'The Wild'. I guess it is not so bad, just not my type of movie! Till next time...

I came across this photo while looking for some of Nakita. I really do NOT know what Brenna was helping Tessa with, but I have to assume it was homework. There is such a look of patience there. I see love when I see this photo, even though Tessa would NOT agree. John, see, I did write a little bit. It is all I can manage today.
